Dr Bill, Glenmorangie's Director of Whisky Creation, was born with a taste for adventure. And with this single malt he sought to create a whisky as unpredictable as his travels. Quinta Ruban is a whisky journey into the wild - a dark and delectable forest where the wind whistles with gusts of peppermint and dark swirls of chocolate can happen at any moment. In their giraffe-high stills, it begins soft and fruity, then gets darker and deeper as they let it age for 14 years in bourbon casks and port casks from Portugal. The finished whisky is a thicket of voluptuous flavour combinations. Walnut and black pepper. Mandarin orange and melted marshmallow. Dark chocolate bar and peppermint. Like stepping into a chocolate-minty-orange unknown, the journey is as delicious as the destination.

The last hours of a perfect autumn day when the world looks like a golden dream filled with cookie-coloured leaves and butterscotch skies... What would that taste like? The answer is, this dazzling, luminous whisky - a rhapsody of warm tones like purple heather, leaves swirling in the wind and hues of lemon, copper and gold. To create it, Glenmorangie gather the silky, fruity spirit from their giraffe-high stills and let it steep in American oak casks. No less than 15 years later, they transfer a portion into Oloroso sherry casks for three more years. Once 18 years have passed, Glenmorangie reunite them to create its warm balance of sweet, floral lushness. Slow-burning, aromatic peat from Hobbister Moor; hand-turned floor maltings, Sherry seasoned European oak casks, cool maturation in the temperate island climate and a long and unhurried harmonisation process. Highland Park 18YO is predominantly matured in 1st fill European oak Sherry-seasoned casks, delivering a remarkable complexity over time. It delivers lingering layers of sweet honeyed malt wrapped up in subtle floral peat smoke. Over 18 years, the cool Northern climate causes the whisky to age slowly and evenly, providing balanced maturation and depth of flavour.

Jura 10YO is a whisky only Jura could make, shaped by its remote Scottish island home and a tradition of distilling that dates back to 1810. Crafted in exceptionally tall stills, it is matured for a decade in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in fine aged Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. Copper-gold in colour, it opens with aromas of vanilla, orange, cracked black pepper, and dark chocolate, leading to a smooth, sweet palate of nectarines, ginger, coffee, and toasted almonds. Crafted on the Isle of Jura, where a close-knit island community has been making whisky since 1810, Jura 18 Year Old reflects a dedication to whiskies made for bringing people together. Distilled in Jura's exceptionally tall stills, it is aged for a minimum of 18 years, maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before a refined finish in Bordeaux red wine barriques. Crafted as the perfect introduction to peated whisky, Laphroaig Oak Select balances the distillery's iconic smoky character with a smooth, approachable sweetness. Matured in a carefully selected combination of Oloroso sherry butts, Pedro Ximénez hogsheads, ex-Bourbon casks and finished in virgin American oak, this Islay single malt opens with peat smoke and ripe red fruit before revealing layers of seaweed, ash and soft floral notes. Rich yet mellow, it delivers a long, complex finish with hints of marzipan and lime - a refined expression of over 200 years of passionate distilling tradition.

Oban is one of Scotland's oldest and smallest distilleries. Founded in 1794, the West Highland port town of the same name has grown around the distillery.
