TWR are passionate about aromatic varieties and particularly those from Alsace so it was only a matter of time until they took on the challenge of Pinot Gris. When they first bought their property they replanted a section of the old block with the Berry-Smith clone (also known as Larkham clone) of Pinot Gris. TWR selected this particular clone especially for its low cropping, small bunches and small berries as they felt it would deliver the best quality fruit.

TWR's passion for making and drinking Riesling is based partly on the wide variety of styles that this variety can produce. This Riesling 'M' is designed from the 'vineyard-in' in a medium-dry style and is dangerously drinkable. Lifted aromas of mandarin, pink grapefruit, and white peach follow onto vibrant, ripe flavours of the same with juicy lime with underlying slatey mineral notes. This wine is fine and soft with excellent fruit weight and concentration to counterbalance the mouth-watering acidity.

Toru is a delicious, co-fermented 'field blend' of three varieties - Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris. Toru has an intriguing nose with notes of mango, fresh citrus, white florals and exotic spices. These lead into a multi-layered palate with flavours of mango, citrus, red apple and lychee with a lingering spiciness. The palate has excellent fruit concentration and weight with lovely creamy texture, plus a mineral edge which gives it great length of flavour.

A classic Gisborne Chardonnay - full bodied with loads of lovely toasty, buttery flavours.

Yellow citrus and white peach are expertly married with subtle toastiness and malo-derived creaminess. A rich and full flavoured Marlborough Chardonnay that combines classic varietal flavours with warm, roasted nut and smoky French oak.

Delightfully aromatic featuring bright florals and ripe aromas of white peach and honeydew with hints of baking spice. The harmonious palate is fresh and full of flavour.

Enticing aromas of wild strawberries and watermelon with a delicate floral lift. The creamy palate is carefully balanced by crisp acidity creating a juicy, flavourful palate of red fruit with a lingering finish that is deliciously moreish.

Delightfully ripe aromas of gooseberry and white peach are laced with refreshing notes of kaffir lime. The fleshy mid palate is tamed by an underlying minerally acid backbone that culminates in a bright, zesty finish.

The Gisborne regions high sunshine hours, clay loam soils and luscious landscapes provide the ingredients for Thornbury to produce outstanding award-winning Chardonnays, that are full-bodied, creamy in texture and aromatic in tropical fruits.

The wine displays lovely delicate floral Pinot Gris characters of fresh citrus, white pear and hints of lychee and spice.

This fruit-driven Pinot Gris from Marlborough's Awatere Valley displays bright aromas of orange blossom and juicy pear. On the palate flavours of fresh quince and crisp golden apple blend seamlessly with hints of sweet spice. With integrated fine phenolics and smooth acidity this is a fresh and richly textured wine with a long and lingering finish.

Sourced entirely from vineyards located in Southern Marlborough's spectacular Awatere Valley, this vibrant wine displays aromas of citrus zest and vibrant tropical fruit with notes of fresh spring herbs complemented with hints of orange blossom and lemongrass. The palate is layered with flavours of juicy ripe lemon and lime, sweet fresh pineapple and crunchy green apple. This seamless wine has outstanding fruit concentration and a zesty underlying minerality that leads to a pure, lively and focused dry finish.
